Engaging Epigenetics Experts at #AACR: Cancer Keyword Cloud

E3 is launching in beta at the 2011 American Association for Cancer Research Meeting, which is fitting since epigenetics is a hot area for oncology research. Of the 27,000 publications from epigenetics experts featured on E3, more than 4,600 contain the keyword ‘tumor’ (cancer appears to be much less frequent as a keyword). We made a keyword cloud for these publications, shown below, with the largest words representing the most prevalent. We removed common keywords such as ‘genetics’ and ‘drug effects’ and kept those associated with oncology. It’s not a rigorous method, but it gives an idea of the most frequent keywords for cancer research involving epigenetics, and clicking on the words will display the publications with the keyword ‘tumor’ and the keyword. You can then connect with researchers, add the publications to a group, or refine the search. You’ll need to join to do the most interesting things. Enjoy, and if you’re at AACR stop by the New England Biolabs exhibit #530 for a demo. (Extra credit: can you see the hidden message?)
